The Chateau Ausone, is a vineyard of 7 ha located in Saint-Emilion in the Gironde. In AOC Saint-Emilion, it is one of two areas with the castle Cheval Blanc have been classified Prime grand cru classé A in the latest rankings of wines from Saint-Emilion 2006. The estate is named after the poet Ausone, which would have owned the fourth century villa Lucaniacum in Saint-Emilion according to some. Recent studies show that the raw Ausone is one of the oldest in the region. The Cru is in the same family for three centuries.
