Lolita Lempicka
Lolita Lempicka is a French fashion designer who markets her designs with the brand name Lolita Bis. In 1985 she opened an atelier in the Le Marais section of Paris, France. Azzedine Alaia also opened a boutique in the neighborhood on the Rive Droite of the Seine River. She is noted for her suit designs. In 1990 she received applause for a collection shown in a courtyard in the Louvre. It featured micro-models with bustiers and bras designed like underwear. She embellished a trend in lingerie which began the previous season. Lempicka added lace to small pink or green slip dresses, which she covered with peppy short trench coats. On a grey flannel suit she added appliqued flower details. Her fashions showed a preference for a bare back look crossed by straps with bare midriffs on occasion. In May 1993 Architectural Digest featured her 19th Century weekend retreat outside Paris.
