The Cognac region has been planted with vines since Roman times. In fact, the Latin word Campania or Champagne means chalk, which describes the soil type, and gives its name to our Fine Champagne Cognac. The Grande Champagne & Petite Champagne crus, where Rémy Martin grapes are grown, are so sought after, in fact, that ground rents are on average 20% higher than other areas in the Cognac region. Our crus have a highly distinctive soil and climate. Porous chalky stones ensure ideal and stable water supply to the vines, while white surface gravel reflects sunlight for optimum maturation of the grapes. Our blend of Fine Champagne Cognac is produced exclusively from Grande Champagne & Petite Champagne, and made with a minimum of 50% Grande Champagne.
