Crossing the 9th arrondissement and 10th district of Paris, this street was opened in 1823, between Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin, and rue du Faubourg-Poissonnière. She received in 1824 the name of Charles X, replaced after the revolution of 1830, the Marquis de La Fayette. Long over 2.8 km, Rue La Fayette is one of the biggest areas of the north-east of the city of Paris. It helps to link the boulevard Haussmann in place of the Battle of Stalingrad. Very animated, it has many restaurants and bars, but is best known for leading to the famous Galeries Lafayette, located at the corner of rue de la Chaussée-d'Antin and boulevard Haussman. To point out that the road passes near the Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord.
