Rue Laffitte
First called rue d'Artois, then street Cerutti, and again rue d'Artois, it took its present name in 1830. It is Jacques Laffitte, financier and politician, who gave his name during his lifetime. He lived to 19 on the rue d'Artois, now 27 of the street Laffitte. The impressionist painter Claude Monet was born in this direction in 1840.
