In the very heart of the Marais district in Paris, lies the street Pavée (4th arrondissement). In 1235, the section between the streets of King-Sicily and Franc-Bourgeois existed, it was the rue du Petit-Marivaux, known in 1406 rue du Petit-Marais, then Marivaux, to name replaced by 1450 current name. It was extended in 1838 until the vieile rue Saint-Antoine, but was amputated a portion of this extension, when digging in 1854 on Rue de Rivoli. It was one of the first of this district to be paved. Ms. Denis, born Louise Mignot, niece of Voltaire, who maintained the passionate love with it, lived in this street.
