The station, located at the corner of the Rue de Vaugirard and the streets of Volunteers, was opened in 1910. It is equipped with a single entry rue de Vaugirard, and a single exit Street Volunteers. In 1822, local residents turned themselves in an impasse existing alley leading into the rue de Vaugirard, hence the name of the first Volunteer Lane. The "s" was later added to pay tribute to soldiers of the Year II of the Revolution.
